Frequently Asked Questions

What is Share the Love?

Share the Love is a national cloth diaper bank that provides cloth diapers to low-income families.

Who started Share the Love?

Share the Love was founded in 2012 by Cotton Babies CEO Jennifer Labit to fight poverty and eliminate diaper need in our local communities.

What is Diaper Need?

Diaper need is when a parent struggles to provide children with clean diapers. Parents who experience diaper need often have to reuse disposables or choose between paying for diapers and other basic needs like food or utilities. 1 in 3 American families have had to face this choice.

Why does Share the Love loan cloth diapers to families in need?

Cloth diapers are reusable and can diaper multiple children. By loaning cloth diapers, Share the Love is able to increase the number of families it serves. Once a child is finished using cloth diapers from Share the Love, we are able to take this same set of diapers and distribute it to another family in need.

How many cloth diapers does a family receive through Share the Love?

While every family is different, anyone who qualifies to receive assistance through Share the Love will receive a minimum of 15 cloth diapers. Information, education and supporting materials about cloth diapering are also available.

When do I have to return the cloth diapers I receive through Share the Love?

All diapers loaned through Share the Love must be returned to a host site by the date specified in the loaner agreement, or by a child’s third birthday. Diapers can always be returned early when necessary.

How will I know which diapers are used by Share the Love?

Diapers that are donated through Share the Love are marked in a few different ways. You may notice a heart on the tag, a hole punch inside, or a slit on the inside flap. These diapers are not eligible for resale.

How do I care for my cloth diapers?

The host site in which you pick up your diapers will also provide more information on how to use and care for cloth diapers.

Does Share the Love accept any type of donation other than cloth diapers?

If you do not have any cloth diapers to donate to Share the Love, you can purchase one for a family in need. Every purchase you make at Cotton Babies also supports Share the Love and other programs to end diaper need.
